21 Day Fix Mediterranean Seasoning
One day I was watching a weight loss infomercial. Don’t judge. We all do it. Anyway, this particular one was for the 21 Day Fix program. I ordered it thinking it would be something I could really get into. I mean, if you can pretty much eat foods you already like, as long as they fit into those cute little color coordinated containers then you should be good. I did try the program for a minute, and actually still have those containers and the recipe book. I wasn’t successful with the plan because I almost blew out my knee the first time I tried the exercises. They aren’t that strenuous really, but I have some mild arthritis in that knee and there were too many weight-bearing moves on it, so…But one thing I really liked was the homemade seasoning recipes included in the food portion of the book. My favorite is the Mediterranean seasoning and I keep a jar of that on my spice shelf to use in whatever recipe I think it will go well in. I really like to saute fresh cut up zuchini with olive oil, a little sea salt and the Mediterranean seasoning. Delicioso!
Brigham Creek Farm Hot Cocoa Mix
Every year when it’s the season that just screams “hot chocolate!”, this Brigham Creek Farm brand is my go-to. I purchase mine at our local LDS Home Storage Center for $4.25/32-oz. pouch. I just heat up some water in my kettle–or microwave some–place a few tablespoons of mix in a mug, pour in the water, give it a good stir and I am good to go. I might stir it with a peppermint stick, or add some cinnamon for a mock Mexican hot chocolate taste, or maybe drizzle some caramel sauce in–just about anything that goes with chocolate will work. Maybe throw in an Andes Mint. Just sayin’. Warms my soul.
Arteza Desk Set
I was sitting at my desk the other day, working on a blog post, and looking at my desk accessories. They were a hodge-podge of pieces that were strictly functional and not at all decorative or pleasing to the eye. I decided right then to jump on Amazon and find a nice set to make my desk work a more pleasant experience. I found this Arteza set and I am very pleased with it. The link shows the set in dark green but mine is a kind of rose gold/copperish color that goes really well with an existing lamp and my mouse pad. There are actually two more pieces–an inbox and a magazine holder–but I didn’t include those in the photo. I am really enjoing having matching accessories and it is helping me to stay better organized and motivated to keep the desktop clear.
Willow Tree Girls
Have you seen the Willow Tree figurines that have been so popular over past years? They have some really cute versions like new mom, new baby, father and daughter, etc. I even have the Nativity set that I put out at Christmas. Years ago I served with several ladies at church and we were over the 12-18 year-old Young Women in a geographic area that included about 8 or 9 congregations. We were a presidency and the President got each of us this set of women counseling together and I like to think they are discussing scripture. I keep it on my desk to remember the good times we had together. I also like to think of women counseling together to increase their knowledge of the Gospel and of serving together.
