Parmesan & Basil Biscuits

Description

Parmesan & Basil Biscuits are something a little off the biscuit beaten path but they are pretty tasty, served with basil butter, of course.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
  2. Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Stir in buttermilk and oil just until moistened.
  3. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead 3 times. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter and Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 16-18 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm.
