Crescent Lasagna

Description

Not your typical lasagna, but you will love all the crusty, cheesy yumminess of this dish that features refrigerated crescent rolls.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 (6-oz. each) cans tomato paste
  • 1 cup small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 egg;1/4 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls

Instructions

  1. Brown sausage and ground beef together. Add onions, garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, salt, pepper and tomato paste. Cook for about 5 minutes until heated through. Set aside.
  2. Mix together the cottage cheese, egg, and Parmesan and set aside.
  3. On a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan form one large crust with the crescent roll dough to make a rectangular shaped crust, pressing edges together.
  4. Layer meat and cheese mixtures down the center of the crust. Top with Mozzarella cheese and more Parmesan, if desired.;Fold sides and ends of dough over the filling.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees F. for about 25 minutes or until browned.
  6. May be prepared ahead and refrigerated for 2-3 hours before baking.
