Buttermilk Pancake Syrup


Description

Maple is good, but this Buttermilk Pancake Syrup is a delicious diversion. You don’t even need butter on your ‘cakes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light Karo Syrup
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a medium, to a little larger, pot on stove.
  2. Add sugar, Karo, and buttermilk.
  3. Whisk to combine ingredients and bring to a boil
  4. Add vanilla, then the baking soda and continue to whisk/stir for 1 minute.
  5. Remove from heat and let stand while you’re making your pancakes or waffles.
